Lustmord’s dark ambient classic Heresy (originally released in 1990, remastered in 2004) is dark and low-key and would work well for a long, slow burn of a scene.
Liner notes (which I got from Wikipedia):
Liner notes: “Heresy is the culmination of work carried out from 1987 to 1989 and utilizes subterranean location recordings originated within crypts, caverns, mines, deep shelters and catacombs together with material of seismic and volcanic origin. It also takes advantage of psycho-acoustic phenomena and the physical effects of low frequency information.”
Which would explain why it sounds like what Lucifer would listen to when unwinding at the end of the day. Heavy flogger in one hand, tumbler of tortured souls in the other.
